Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattoos, becomes a very popular treatment in last decade. It is a cosmetic procedure that can help you recreate your favorite makeup looks in a semipermanent manner.

It is often performed in an effort to simulate eyebrows, eyeliner, lipstick, or foundation/concealer on your face.

The technique of micropigmentation consists of implantation of pigment into the skin using a tattoo pen. The PMU options includes Microblading, Ombre brows, 3-D HD Bold Brows, Lip Blushing, Line Liner, BB Glow.

Permanent Makeup(PMU)

Microblading

Microblading is probably the most popular and one of the oldest permanent makeup treatments out there for restoration of the eyebrows. It is a manual process involves a “microblade” made of several needles or pins, arranged in different shapes to hand-carved small lines into the skin to deposit semi-permanent dye and create defined, hair-like strokes,
These brows can last from 1 to 3 years depending on one’s skin type and lifestyle; though one should take touch-up session every 12-18 months.

Ombre brows

Ombre brows or, Powder brows—refers to a semi-permanent method of shading the brow to perfect their shape, fill in sparse areas, and create a gradient effect. The technique uses a machine to create pixelated dots that create a powder-like, shaded brow look that starts light at the front of your brows and transitions to being darker at the ends.
These type of brows has a pretty long lifespan lasting from 2 to 3yrs with regular touch-up sessions every 12-14months apart.

3-D HD Bold Brows

3-D HD Bold Brows are basically a combination of both microblading with powder or ombre brows. Also, know by several other names like hybrid brows, Microblading with microshading etc
It involves strokes of blading and rest of it machine shading. It gives an ‘uber natural’ look. It is a relatively recent technique.

Lip Blushing

Lip blushing is a simple wash of sheer color across the entire lip. This super-natural, semipermanent cosmetic tattoo builds consistent color and defines your shape for fuller lips without filler and a more polished pout.
Since the skin on the lips doesn’t retain pigment as well as the rest of the skin, some clients require two or three touch-ups spaced 6weeks apart.
Once you’ve been through the multiple touch-up appointments needed to first achieve your desired look, the color will last about a year.

Lash Liner

Lash liner is a semipermanent eyeliner and can be done on the upper and lower lash line. The pigment is deposied on the lash line and can be applied as a fine, thin, or medium to thick eye-liner style. Most PMU eyeliner lasts for few years, with regular yearly touch-ups as the pigment will eventually fade.

BB Glow

It is a glow treatment with foundation like effect, helps to reduce uneven skin tone, dullness and patchyness. It is the perfect treatment for anyone looking for flawless skin especially for brides.
As the pigment in this treatment settles in superficial layer of skin so result last only for few a month with multiple touch-ups spaced 4weeks apart.

Tattoo vs PMU

While tattoo placement is deeper into the skin whereas permanent makeup pigment is placed superficially.

Tattoo ink/color is placed within cells, as it is liquid & completely water soluble whilst PMU ink/pigment is placed in between cells as it contains particulate matter suspended in the form of liquid or, gel.

Tattoo lasts long. If not removed by lasers they last a lifetime. PMU lasts for a few years. Usually requires one touch-up at 6-10 weeks and then, yearly touch-up.

Tattoo looks unnatural as compared to color of hairs and skin as pigment is placed under several layers of skin, making it looks dull whilst in PMU, by using the correct color combination, a very natural shade of brown can be achieved.
